President & CEO, Ignition Group of companies

DAN FRITZ

A serial entrepreneur and builder at heart, Dan brings a ‘hands on’ and drill down operating style to businesses, often finding value concepts where others couldn’t.

Dan has a diverse business background; he spent his early years working on tugboats, as a bush pilot in Canada’s North and West Coast and learning the construction industry from the ground up, initially as a laborer and framer. At 25, he started a home building company and over the years took on larger and larger residential and commercial real estate developments, all while building up a hotel development and management company with as many as 13 properties under management at one time. Dan brought the fabled Mandarin Oriental Hotel company to North America when he developed their first hotel outside of the orient, in Vancouver.

Over the years, in addition to his real estate developments, Dan has acquired and grown companies in several industries including fruit juice processing & distribution, production machining, boat building, construction supplies; usually purchasing small companies and steadily growing their long-term value. He prioritizes corporate growth initiatives, strengthening internal operating and marketing systems, and investing in quality managers and their training.

When he’s not focused on business and his family, his hobbies include fishing, adventure travel and participation in several charities.

TIM MCLEOD

Tim loves working at the intersection of project vision and detailed project implementation. This passion has defined his journey as an entrepreneur, community developer, project manager, and communicator. After completing a Land Use and Environmental Studies degree in Canada and Sweden, Tim worked many years in the international ‘not for profit’ sector as a senior manager in programs in public health, agriculture, community development and disaster logistics.

After returning to Canada Tim worked closely with his business partner and wife Annette, introducing innovative European brands to Canada in the national wholesale and retail sectors. A chain of events brought Tim back to his love of land use and community development, shaped by time spent working as a home builder and in the alternative energy industry.

Tim and Annette moved to Kamloops in 2010 and over the next few years led the Tranquille sites environmental clean-up and initial steps in the municipal planning approval process. In 2012 Tim and Annette launched ‘Tranquille Farm Fresh’ to market organic vegetables grown on the property. Since then, they have undertaken a number of creatively innovative business initiatives underpinned by the Tranquille lands fabled history; notably these included rogue theatre productions, multi-media, escape rooms, heritage tours, and agritourism activities.

Tim enjoys playing music, reading great biographies, and exploring Tranquille with his grandsons and Annette.
